Charlie, in terms of the Myers-Briggs system, is an ISFP. [SPOILERS] Throughout the book, Charlie seems to use an enormous amount of Fi -- deriving from her personal opinions, perspectives, and feelings of how her life has been. Her use of Fi can be described as unhealthy, as she has a tendency to do harmful things to herself/form unhealthy habits for personal relief. She uses Se as her auxiliary function to apply her internal values to the physical world through art, more specifically via drawing on her sketchbook. She has an adoration to draw comics of what/who she sees in the moment. Ni tertiary development is apparent beginning in the middle of the novel. Charlie begins to understand the abstract side of art and absorbs the wisdom from her coworkers, artists, and peers, upon which she reflects to herself. Te inferior can be determined by her ignorance of her peers' advice on what decisions should (not) be made to lead a happier life, especially regarding Riley. Te grip is seen near the end of the novel, in which Charlie experiences a breakdown and yells at Riley for his faults as a "boyfriend".
