ISTJs are actually extremely generous, because of their Dominant Si and their Tertiary Fi. When there are social customs that are to be fulfilled, or a duty they need to perform (whether that be from societal obligations or purely from upbringing), ISTJs will often meet those expectations. In environments such as church or family celebrations, ISTJs will often contribute far more than anyone might think of them at a first glance. Importantly, ISTJs have Tertiary Fi, which is highly sensitive and desires to be seen as a good person or morally righteous. They hold themselves to very high moral standards. While they might not display it (and if you ask them about it they will probably get super awkward), but they will often feel an urge to help out others in need in small ways to appeal to their Fi. While I would say that ISFJs and ESFJs are easily the most generous types, ISTJs are the most giving out of the xxTJs. ESTJs can also be generous, but because of their inferior Fi, they often have to be guilted first, or shown that their over reliance on Dominant Te sometimes hurts others. In that scenario, healthy ESTJs are great. However, ISTJs are more reliable when it comes to donations, as they fall in line to social expectation, traditions, and feel a far stronger urge to remain morally righteous than ESTJs.
