Imma repost my comment because I edited it and the previous one got buried under tons of "omg she's this and not that" with no elaboration Cognitive functions are not about core motivations or inner desires, but thought process and decision-making, so those who say that she uses Fi because all she does is for sake of having fun make no sense, this is a clear sign of E7, but not Fi. [Fe vs Fi] Fi users tend to have a strict inner moral code, strife for harmony with themselves, they're introspective and act in accordance with what they see as right or wrong. None of this can be seen in Sparkle, she the exact opposite of this. She gives literally zero fuскs about the moral value of her actions, she does everything for fun and nothing else, and that's the whole philosophy of Masked Fools and path of Elation as a whole. Aha has literally the same view of things but is typed as ENTP, so what is the difference? Some people say that Fi isn't about morals, but it in fact is. It's just not the common and socially accepted one, but their own. They have strong feeling of good and bad, and what is good from their point of view can be bad from the point of view of society. That is the difference between Fe and Fi. Also, Fi users can be compassionate and empathetic just like Fe users can be selfish and cruel, where did yall take that selfishness and ignorance are Fi exclusive traits? Fi is an introverted function which needs authenticity and independence. They can't stand being controlled or their values being questioned or criticized. It's very important for them to stay true to themselves even if it means becoming an outcast. The only reliable source of evaluating information and events for them is their own judgment. While Sparkle does value emotions as seen from her trailer, she sees them as an instrument of playing on stage and interacting with the public. She is constantly wearing a mask in both direct and metaphorical sense, because deception and acting are her way of communicating with the audience. And without audience she practically can't exist, she needs others to interact with her, she wants reaction and others' emotions to live. What is this, if not Fe? You might argue that she despises rules and standards which would be strange for a Fe user who wants to always be a part of a collective, and so should follow all the social rules. However it isn't necessarily important for them to be like everyone. Her target collective she wants to be a part of is her audience and the Masked Fools. Plus, let's not forget that Fe isn't her dominant function, it's, as I hope we all agree, Ne. Extroverted intuition is already a function that strives for innovation, possibilities, creativity and unusual ways of doing things. Ne doms are highly unlikely to be obedient and conformist. Also, her auxiliary function is Ti, which is still a Ji function that tends to question overall accepted standards and rules. [Ti vs Te] Sparkle's thought process is very Ti: twisted logic that follows very subjective consequence of conclusions, however as long as it makes sense personally to the user, they'll stick to it. Hanabi likes various riddles and mysteries and does them for pure entertainment. To her, process is much more important than the result, she doesn't seem to be a kind of person who wants competition or control. She also doesn't really care about the efficiency of her actions or bare facts while constructing logical patterns, she'll more likely to spend more time and effort but to make the way more interesting for herself. Since Ti is a Ji function the logic of it's users can be very far from reality, their conclusions can be drawn from the most unexpected facts. They tend to not follow prescribed rules and obligations if they don't find them logical, but rather make their own and stick to them. Ti and Fi are very similar, in fact, and it can be hard to tell them apart, it's just Ti's judgment comes from their personal logic and Fi's judgment comes from their personal values. [More on Fe] Very important note: Fe user isn't necessarily a saint altruist who does everything for the greater good. Like Hitler was Fe aux, lol. Fe users, especially unhealthy ones, are great at crawling under others' skin, detecting their weaknesses and further using them for their own benefit. Sparkle is very good at making others uncomfortable, almost immediately finding their weak spots. She's also a great actress, partially because of her ability to instantly read people and copy their speech, movements and habits. She copied Sampo so well that Trailblazer, who knew him for quite a long time, didn't notice any difference between real Sampo and Sparkle in disguise.
