I understand why normally people would think Adachi is an INTP, but here is my analysis of why he's an INFP. First of all, let's look at Fi dom. Adachi has a certain set of values and is constantly looking for understanding his emotions, because he doesn't want to take advantage of Kurosawa, but also wants to state how this notice has changed his points of view in one way or another. This can be shown at, for example, every time he interacts with Kurosawa during the first and second volume. Being always so wary, but at the same time having an emotional attachment to how Kurosawa was feeling due to his own experience is a common trait of Fi dom. Yeah, I know this is a BL manga and whatever... But think about a romance about a Ti dom, e.g. Kimi ni todoke, there's a tendency of the MC of not noticing their feelings, because Ti doms are not inner-self oriented but self-logic oriented. Then, let's sum the auxiliar: Ne. The main difference between INFP and INTP is that Ti + Ne looks at inconsistencies in logic and then create theories and think about possibilities, like MaoMao. However, INFP is always exploring their feelings and thoughts, without wanting them to be always strictly logical. This doesn't mean every INFP expresses their feelings to the world, many INFPs don't do that, but stay true to themselves. Adachi did it, as he knew what he liked to do and where is his confort zone, in anime's chapter 3 regretting getting out of it (so Fi-Si loop), or when he said to Kurosawa he liked the *same* manga after Kurosawa almost dies of shame, lol. Then, Fe and Te inferior. Well, Fe inferior has a lack of social dynamics understanding, also struggling with empathy. As we already said, Adachi empathizes quickly with Kurosawa's feelings, because he knew how it felt being rejected and how horrible was to feel that you are reduced to a "nuisance" for some people ("Till know I used to think he was a perfect man, but he's also worried... *Like me*... That makes him more adorable"). And, well, Adachi's inferiority complex deriving into him sometimes working too hard (in Kurosawa's words) is the best way of expressing his Te inferior (typical stuff of INFP, own experience, lol). Finally, Si tert is the easiest one to see. Until crazy Kurosawa appeared in Adachi's life, he was into his own habits, tired of it? Kinda. We INFPs love having life-style patterns, thou at some point we feel exhausted of it and want to change. Adachi's ultra-Si tert words were (said before also): "Someone, please, help me. I regret getting out of my confort zone", "Wow, riajuus' friends are also riajuus", etc. And what I like the most is that thanks to Kurosawa this function of his is boosted in a good way (sometimes "becoming" a productive and creative ISTJ at work, may I better say thanks to him he developed Si-Te better than other INFP in other series?)... I love them sm! <3
