watched hours of her doing press and my best guess is INFP, second best is ISTJ. i saw her use Fi and Si the most. i saw little Ne and Te, and almost no Ni, Fe, Ti or Se. for now, i'll choose INFP over ISTJ because even though i see a lot of Si and even though inferior Ne would explain her rare use of it, she glazes over the Si and doesn't use it as strongly as an Si dominant would. she seems to use Si to help her explain how she feels - it's not her main focus basically. and also from a more general perspective, she just uses Fi more. she talks about her own feelings a lot, how she feels about other actors and the characters she plays. this is confirmed by - for example - her literally starting many of her answers with "i feel like..." or "for me..." she's also very self referential when talking to others - relating their experiences with her own, and she said she's "drawn to darker things" [referring to roles and music] because "it feels like a release to let go and be emotional." this is too much Fi usage for an Si dominant. the tertiary function is supposed to be used inconsistently; situationaly; a function you're not always confident with using. whereas Sophie seems to use Fi to determine her decisions and opinions, making Fi dom a better contender than Fi tert. as for proof of her Si, she said her background in mormonism and the existentialism she read and felt as a child influenced her acting in Heretic [religious / mormon movie] because it brought her back in the same "head space" that she could "tap into." that's very Si - internalizing sensory experiences and using them to determine present and/or future decisions. she literally processed the role in a different way because of her past experiences. i have a lot more examples of her using Si but don't wanna make this comment too long. the only instances of Ne i saw were (1) her saying the Yellowjackets intro reminded her of tumblr; very "Effy Stonem Skins" vibes, (2) her saying an interviewer's hairdo makes her look like she's from Alice In Wonderland, and (3) this quote: "i love elevated horror ... i love that everything is so imaginative and ... it's the craziest, most highetened circumstances possible, and you don't always get to do that ... you get to like explore more of your imagination and i like that ... i wanna explore every genre, i wanna explore every type of character." i saw one instance of Te - when she explained how she did research for her role in Heretic. she said she asked a lot of questions to her family members that have been mormon's for decades along with a lot of Chloe's [co-star in Heretic] mormon friends because she was "figuring out what is the most realistic portrayal [of being a mormon] without it being a caricature or like a joke." i also saw some potential signs of underdeveloped Fe. she can sometimes unintentionally break social harmony by rather not knowing how to respond to a side comment by an interviewer or when she does/says something that messes up the flow of the interview - e.g., (1) her saying she wears "mormon underwear" and Chloe not knowing how to respond for a second, or (2) Sophie accidentally taking too much time to answer a question, forgetting Chloe is also being interviewed with her and she has to answer too, then Sophie goes "oh sorry i took your..." another potential sign of underdeveloped Fe is when she said that she didn't think about how her movies are perceived by the audience and how they'll react to it until Chloe pointed it out to her. she said she never thought about it because her "mind doesn't naturally go that way" - i doubt an Fe dom/aux wouldn't naturally think about the way they or their work is being perceived by others. i assume the INFJ votes come from vibe types or people confusing mbti with socionics and thinking that an INFј (EII) in socionics is the same as an INFJ in mbti - it's not. Sophie uses a lot of Si, relies on her Fi to answer the press, and she seems to struggle with Fe, which eliminates INFJ for me - INFJ just doesn't make sense. anyway, i'm still open to ISTJ but i'm choosing INFP until further notice!
