[1/3] A lot of people say Fiona is actually an ESFJ, when the true ESFJ mistyped as an xNFP is right in front of their eyes. I think the author did a modicum amount of research on the different types (even if the research was reading the 16P vague descriptions) in a way that makes the type the characters are supposed to be somewhat believable. But for some reason she either: didn't research about ENFP or did research about ENFP but the only thing she grasped is that they're "quirky" and "random" (Which is craaaazy considering she's an ENFP, but oh well). And I can confidently say that because Patrick is the epitome of Fe-Si (at times even more than Alec). ☆ Fe: THIS MAN NOT ONLY HAS LIKE A MICROSCOPIC AMOUNT OF NE BUT HIS FI IS NOWHERE TO BE SEEN. When he became aware of Fiona's crush on Sven he: • Seemed to care more about what people think of Sven and through that he formed his own opinion on him • And when talking to Fiona about why she can't date him he listed concrete facts like the status of his family or his grades Instead of talking about how she can't date him because he thinks or he feels blah and blah, he talked about how she can't date him because: "People say he's a player" "they say he won't date anyone with a low GPA" "He's said to only date this and that". He lists only concrete things people say, he doesn't analyzes them to see if they fit in how he perceives Sven, he just takes it at face value. He's not using internal judgement, he's using external facts to form his view on what's appropriate. But then, immediately after meeting Sven he changed his opinion on him. His opinion is based on social cues and social perception, rather than consistent and internal values. Throughout all the comic Patrick's main motivation seems to be accepted. He prioritizes social norms and group harmony much more than being authentic to what he believes in. Ex: When he was talking about his major and why he likes studying cinema, Simon criticized it very harshly and told him it was a waste of time. Instead of defending what he loves and is passionate about he just accepted Simon's criticism, because for him is more important to maintain social harmony and his good relationship with him than staying true to what he believes in. Fe>fi ☆ Si: Aside from the examples cited above his reasoning also shows to be very Si driven throughout the comic. When trying to become friends with Simon he told him they should get along because "that's what roomies are supposed to be like". And when Simon and Gwen were facing eachother in chess he didn't know who he should cheer for. When Penny told him he could just cheer for both he was surprised because that possibility wasn't even something he considered, his mind always chooses to do what's been proven to work. He's naturally inclined to consider precedent, order, and tangible facts. ☆ Ne and Ti: "Ne may also provide the ESFJ with potential ideas and possibilities to help form their goal. All types like to use their tertiary function in a playful way. The ESFJ specifically may on occasion demonstrate a quirky or witty type humor that’s characteristic of the Ne users." The few times Patrick is shown using Ne are to make silly jokes or give dumb ideas. It is never used practically or in a way that impacts his everyday live. And regarding Ti inf: He struggles to form personal logic or use internal reasoning, especially when it's about what others expect of him.
