**EDITED (HUGE SPOILERS)** Oh boy, the time has finally come. Metroid Prime 4 is out and I have waited so long to make a type profile on this guy. He’s honestly close to what I thought he was. I was previously speculating he’s either an IXXJ or an IXXP. He seems to lean towards IXXP. (Get ready for a long personality analysis lol) He doesn’t have observer (Ni, Se, etc. first) problems/imbalances. He doesn’t seem to be afraid of chaos (demon Se or Ne), he honestly seemed to adapt to it and edit his plans quickly without issue. He has more of an affinity for control but it’s not an imbalance you would label a problem. His big issues are self vs others (Fi, Ti, etc.), with an overinflated sense of self that gets him into trouble. We learn his motivations in this game, and they are to their core a giant IXXP freakout. He doesn’t like to listen to orders and doesn’t take responsibility for his actions when things go wrong. He can’t. He’s avoiding the tribe’s perspective, the Fe or Te. He can’t fight his first function so he tosses the blame to the tribe and thirsts for petty revenge to satisfy his Di and thinks that will solve the problem. A good way to tell some IXXP’s is their sensitivity towards how they are treated. Sylux in the past memory and the present seems to be rather touchy on how he is seen and his status. He made a bad choice against his superior’s orders because he wanted to get the glory and is now lashing out at everyone who was there when he failed. That’s a weirdly extreme reaction right? An IJ or EP has their deciding functions more balanced so even though can certainly have issues about people it won’t be at this scale. Samus was doing her job to protect the GF but since Sylux is imbalanced with his perspective he saw it as very personal. Now we know he’s an ITP or an IFP. The best way to figure it out is to go F vs T. Reasons vs values, and how much feelings are acknowledged by the person. It’s possible in a future game they’ll give us more on why Sylux is so angry with the GF but I’m going off what I was given. A method to tell Ti’s vs Fi’s is to see how much they acknowledge and indulge in their feelings. Lead Ti’s will try to ignore their feelings and try to pretend they don’t have them (even though they do). Lead Fi’s will recognize their feelings and use them, and they really can’t leave them unresolved or ignored. What I see from Sylux is a guy perfectly happy with marinating in his own negative feelings and not afraid to own up to them. At the end of the game he wants Samus to see how much rage she has made him feel (he screams at her a LOT). Another thing to note is he doesn’t seem to take time figure things out (which is something that Ti’s will do, logic is personal to them and things need to make sense). Most of the pivotal parts of his plan are using things others have done or solved. He is using a stolen suit and a stolen ship that he doesn’t seem care to engineer himself. In Prime Hunters he was literally searching for the ultimate power to steal it. We even learn he gathered tech from the GF later to further upgrade his suit. Those new metroids he has are also originally stolen and he may have used GF tech to clone them, it’s not clear yet. Considering he used the metroids to mind control the space pirates he got to avoid Te again by not exactly needing a sales pitch to get their assistance (lol). He’s a one man show. Thinking is essentially just like feeling but with extra steps/conditions that have to be followed and I don’t see those with Sylux. Unlike a villain like Raven Beak who is savior thinking, he never really justifies a personal reason that’s beyond revenge for what he does. So I would guess INFP. Could be ISFP but this analysis is long enough and I see more Ne.

Sylux is a bounty hunter shrouded in mystery, their gender and species totally unknown. They wield prototype Galactic Federation-made armor and weaponry, and vehemently hate the Federation. They joined the hunt for the "ultimate power" in the Alimbic Cluster, and were last seen stalking Samus after she left Elysia.
