Ikumi is not a FE dom/aux. I'm not gonna act like saying otherwise is a crazy take since xSFJ is her obvious first-impression MBTI typing but I don't think it does justice to her character 𝐄𝐓>𝐄𝐅 𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 The scene where she confronts the whole class is a 1:1 perfect example of the jungian extraverted thinking function vs the extraverted feeling function 'This type of man gives the deciding voice-not merely for himself alone but also on behalf of his entourage-either to the actual objective reality or to its objetively oriented formula. By this formula good and evil are measured... All is right that corresponds with this formula; all is wrong that contradicts it... Just as the extraverted thinking type subordinates himself to his formula, so, for its own good, must his entourage also obeys' 'I was there the whole time. Do you think it was a magic trick? Are you able to explain it, then?' 'Puberty Syndrom exists. This is the truth. Azusagawa was right and we were all wrong.' >Ikumi coldly subjects herself to the same judgment that she places over her classmates. There is no room for interpretation or context, she presents the objective truth in an undeniable way and condemn those who deny it as well as protecting those allied with it. The way her classmate argues is actually a good example of EF 'Puberty syndrom? I'm so over it!! My parents couldn't stop rehashing this topic all the time. Even in highschool, everyone was still asking me about this middleschool thing. Like I comitted some sort of crime! I was anxious about coming here but it was worth it because we still all managed to remember the good times so don't ruin everything with your damn Puberty syndrom!' > What's interesting here isn't what she says but the point of her saying all of this. During mid-speech you could see and hear others goign 'mmh-mmh' & 'that's right' because that was the intended effect. She took everyone's feelings including hers into consideration, weighed it against Ikumi's and concluded the general consensus was more important than the factual undeniable reality in front of them. Jung about EF: I may feel constrained, for instance, to use the predicate 'beautiful' or 'good', not because I find the object 'beautiful' or 'good' from my own suvjective feeling but because it is fitting and politically correct so to do; inasmuch as a contrary opinion, would disturb the general feeling situation. This classmate using persuasive over convincing arguments perfetcly highlight how the EF function is typically used. This matches much more with her than Akagi and her textbook ET behaviour. 𝐓𝐞>𝐅𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 Both are extraverted judging functions but while Fe is more concerned with social harmony and Te with achieving practical outcomes, both can be surprisingly very similar because these defining traits don't necessarily contradict one another. Thus, we'll search for a fundamental contradiction: personal vs impersonal. You can give all the traits you want to a Fe or Te user, in any case, the Fe user is much more likely to treat situations and people in a personalized, context-dependant way ascompared to a Te user who is likely to be completely or partially impersonal and treat it all the same. Ikumi has an impersonal way of dealing with life: - Impersonal way of dealing with others: she bluntly brushes off people and while a Fe user can most definitely also do that, they would be more likely to reject people differently, based on their relationship with them. She rejected her ex the same way she rejected Sakuta's help despite the obvious differences in context., all indicative of Te over Fe - Impersonal way of making decisions: She was ruthless when it came to saving people. She didn't check on the people she saved and only cared about the efficiency of her methods, despite them being self-harmful and rash - Impersonal way of belonging in groups: She supresses her emotions and act solo. This can be seen when she carried out all of her tasks alone in the school festival. The scene when she complains to Sakuta because the others wouldn't let her do complicated tasks due to her broken left arm could be interpreted as a typical Fe dilemna as feeling useless and unapreciated often is associated with Fe users struggles but this is absolutely not exclusive to them and has more to do with her core desire and basic fears (=enneagram). ---- I understand the Fe confusion at first but I don't understand how people would still vote her Fe even after her arc conclusion. Te users can get caught up in their feelings too, Te users can think of the greater good and help others too and Te users can be amiable too. If we're going by stereotypes then yes she's definitely a Fe user but this has got to be the least interesting way to interpret her character. I usually believe in open ended conclusion but she's a definite Te/ET any day of the week.
