Sure, Beryl's curiosity and willingness to learn new things is - first of all - a sign of high Ne, but the approach is slightly different based on the auxiliary and even the tertiary functions. Again, an Fi user wouldn't go out of their way to explain why they're against their interlocutor's conceptions because not only they tendentially don't question their own values in any way (as they're entirely based on personal values and have no concrete explanation), but they don't even feel the need to exactly because of this reason; talking about the tertiary function as well, Te also never questions anything as it makes judgements quickly and doesn't need validation, whereas a Ti user is naturally able to give explanations for their choices as everything they do needs factual, demonstrable evidence. Beryl is easily able to manipulate Sapphire and forces him to see the world from his perspective not using Fi, but Fe, as everything is always backed up - in a way or another - by something Sapphire can concretely understand because it's explained and not "just because". Forcing his own view into Sapphire is a process that can be done by both feeling functions, but the process and effectiveness differ completely. I also don't think that Beryl feels his own values as strongly as Sapphire does, no matter how ironical it may seem, especially because they don't even seem to be his own values to begin with. To explain myself better, delving into it, it doesn't really seem that Beryl firmly believes in them but instead he seems to be the one acting in behalf of the other demons, just like every respectable king would (strongly associated with Fe and definitely not with Fi). I recall a certain instance I'm afraid I can't explain properly as of now - since I've last watched the entire Demon King Arc a few months ago and I've only started rewatching it recently - but I'll make sure to give a further explanation when I'll reach that point once again. I'm not exactly sure I can say anything else, reached this point.
