Okay I’m like 99% sure on his type but since no one is giving an argument I’ll give one. Keep in mind I’ve only watched a couple of episodes but from those I think I got a pretty good idea on his typing. So he definitely has Ne but it’s not strong enough to be his dominant. The way his Ne works is that first he comes up with a premise and then uses Ne to help think of other possibilities of why that premise is. For example when he was in the nurse’s office and was about to touch Yamada’s jacket he stops himself but he still finds that he still wants to touch it, he then comes up with a bunch of different reasons as to why he might want to touch it, like his hand has a mind of its own or that his hand has been infected and now is acting by itself. This shows that his Ne takes a more supporting role rather than a dominant one, he still uses it a lot but only to support his thoughts which means it’s an aux function. Okay from there we have INXP. Now it’s between Fi and Ti. Ti and Fi can actually be really hard to distinguish sometimes because there actually really similar functions since they’re both introverted decider functions. The only real difference is that introverted thinking will be focused more on their own logic while introverted feeling will be focused more on their own emotions. Now if he was really introverted feeling he would have a strong grasp on his emotions and values since that’s what introverted feeling is focused on, but the thing is that he clearly doesn’t understand his own emotions or values like at all. It’s to the point that he confuses his crush on a girl with a desire to murder the girl. He also puts on a very edgy “murderous” front while secretly being very kind. If he was an Fi user he would understand that he was kind and not be ashamed of it while on the other hand, Ichikawa is very ashamed of it. The other thing is that every time we get a view into Ichikawa’s head he’s always using logic or rationality. Fi users are also in their own heads a lot but the difference is that Fi users will be pondering and thinking about their own feelings/values and that’s why they have such a good understanding of their emotions. However with Ichikawa we see that even when he is thinking about his emotions he’s using logic to try and rationalize it or justify it, like when he’s crying with Yamada but he doesn’t understand why, an Fi user would instantly understand how and the reason for crying. Another one is when he thinks “What’s this strange feeling I have now? What is it that keeps my thoughts and actions from lining up? One or the other has to be wrong. I’m pretty sure it’s my actions”. He uses pure Ti here because he doesn’t understand why he’s feeling the way he is but he still recognizes that his actions and thoughts aren’t lining up so logically something has to wrong. It isn’t til after all this deliberation and crying with her that he realizes he likes her, an Fi user would be way more emotionally aware of their own feelings but Ichikawa needed logic to understand why his thoughts and actions weren’t lining up. After that I was pretty certain on INTP.
