I wrote some counter-arguments to E4 arguments and have put them together below. Wanting to be special and significant is a motivation that the entire heart triad possesses. In fact, believing that you are special and significant is one of the key traits of E2s. The biggest difference between 2s and 4s is that 2s have a fundamentally positive self-perception while 4s are self-denigrating. 2s operate from a place of strength, possessing pride in themselves, while 4s are envious, believing that they are of lower rank and status. Instead of feeling that she's inferior to the world around her, Sophie feels superior, which is a marker of E2 > E4. Even the highly competitive sx4 which devalues the world around them is ultimately projecting, experiencing "phobia of feeling how little they value themselves". Sophie does nothing of the sort. She knows that she's worth it from the very beginning. Sophie's desire to be a princess matches Naranjo's E2 description which literally describes 2s as wanting to "[play] the part of the princess". Naranjo on E2: “She who enjoys herself ... radiates her complacency in such a way that is instantly shared by those around him, without the need to make your quality explicit through performance or virtuous acts. She is so convinced of her merits that she does not feel that she has to beat others, not even herself.” (With regards to the argument about Sophie's life in Galvadon being E4 and not E2) In a sense, I think I could make an argument that 2s can also be despised by those around them and seen as weirdos. Of course, one strategy from 2s could be to try to win them over with love, but another strategy could be to simply exalt themselves. See how Naranjo quotes Mozart to illustrate the 2: "If the emperor wants me, let him pay me. Well, just the honor of being with him is not enough for me." Here, Mozart denies the company of another because he believes himself to be above them. I think that 2 Sophie works on a similar level in Galvadon. As for the disintegration argument, Sophie doesn't try to secure relationships and do more favours when she's unhealthy as 4 disintegration is characterised by. Instead, she becomes more rebellious and mean, as seen in her transformation into, well, Bad Girl Sophie. Imo, she only really becomes an unhealthy version of herself when she becomes tired of being nice and decides to go apeshit instead, like the aggressive, rebellious and dominating 8. I mostly voted So2 because Sophie reminds me of Catherine Earnshaw (lol) and also because of her general social-climbing attributes. At the end of the day, I believe Sophie's fantasy to be one of social significance above the desire to receive special privileges (sp2) or to be desired (sx2). See her passion for changing the world, her gravitation towards power, her sensitivity towards the way she fits into groups ("I'm not evil! I'm good!"), her ability to navigate social hierarchies and atmospheres. These are all social concerns. While on a superficial level, Sophie may seek to be protected (in that scene with Tedros), she doesn't actually have the sp2's tendency to behave like a child. That scene just shows her prioritisation of herself over others. It's also very classic E2 to promise eternal love and devotion only to fail to actually deliver it. There's also this entire section of the PDB Wiki's description of the So2: "Because of this, their seduction comes from the intellectual, they are also very efficient in working with people, being great with networking and interacting in the social sphere [See the way Sophie is able to get to the top of the School for Evil's social hierarchy by seducing her classmates and taking advantage of their desire for vanity, using charisma through jokes, etc.]. Often a social 2 lacks a figure to look up to, and because of this they want to become that figure, going from a lonely child to a parent of everyone [Sophie feels mistreated by her parents who don't allow her to be herself, though the other part doesn't quite fit, I agree.]. They are also often counter-dependent, meaning rather than being dependent on others and acting the way the other wants them to, they are the ones to push others into playing the court for them, though often there is a person in the SO2s life who they are dependent upon, whether they can admit it consciously or not [Agatha]." Ofc all of this is underpinned by Naranjo lol.
