𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙞𝙚 𝙎𝙓3 𝘼𝙧𝙜𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 (𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙚𝙗𝙪𝙣𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙊9) Upon exposition of the film, Margot Robbie's Barbie is introduced, first and foremost, as an idea: an idealised conception of femininity divorced from reality, a perpetual model of perfection. She is ever pliant, pleasing, presentable and *extra-beautiful.* The sudden appearance of cellulite is like an air strike for her! Here, we find our first indicator of SX3, as evidenced by the following: "For the passion of the sexual three, Ichazo used the words masculinity or femininity, depending on the case. Rather, I used to explain it as an excessive attempt to conform to cultural (perhaps Hollywood) images of masculine and feminine." She is a Stereotypical Barbie: what is she if not the "quintessential woman?" How often have jaded articles and bitter mothers lamented unrealistic beauty standards and the implicit misogyny of her unattainability? Even Sasha references this upon first meeting her: Barbie is RIDICULOUSLY perfect. At least, the idea of her is. But once the first fifteen minutes have passed, she has already begun transcending her status as mere cultural iconography; she is messy, imperfect and flawed. Barbie's journey becomes that of a human being. The conflict, then, is grappling with who she is beyond the hollow, plastic, shiny-bubblegum-pink-perfection of Barbieland. Which, for a chunk of the film, she fights. Losing her otherworldly looks (despite still being very pretty), silly as it may seem, is a real blow to her ego because, for the longest time, that is how she and her culture have defined herself. E3's self-deceive: who they are is what they put out. Barbie falls apart when she realises her sense of worth is illusory, becoming frail and depressive. While others have attributed her passivity to the inertia and inaction of an E9, I find this is much better exemplified, still, by sexual three: "When the sexual E3 collapses, it looks at itself and does not have the necessary ego structure to sustain itself; it can then go into despair and self-destruction. He cannot deal with the truth that his life is a failure and that everything is an illusion. He needs personal work to be able to connect with something bigger and trust." Clearly, we can see this in her self-effacing demeanour - in addition to her existentially challenged disposition of world-weariness. Moreover, it is worth noting that the sexual three is quite flimsy and pliant when compared to other threes. Her lethargy does not rule out SX3 in the slightest, despite the suggestion of others. This weak behaviour serves as the consequence of ego frangibility glued together by flimsy image ideals. When the illusion breaks, so does she. (1/2)

ชีวประวัติ

The main character of the film, and the "stereotypical" Barbie. When a series of imperfect events threaten her perfect life in Barbieland, she is forced on a journey to the real world.
