This guy is the epitome of Ne-Fi acid trip. He loves playfully jumping from one philosophical topic to the next, fluidly and as if on a whim (Ne) … guided by an internal urge for authenticity and liberty (Fi), even if that means going so far as to question the foundations of our ethics and society itself. He’s an adventurer- randomly deciding to go to India, Tibet, the Sahara, Poland, etc to engage in experimental collective improvisations and performance art. He spent those days singing and chanting, relishing in the freedom of being “real” with others, thinking about love and death and joy and despair, living on impulse, and at one point- for no apparent reason- crying uncontrollably in the caressing arms of a stranger. If all of this is not an indicator of Ne-Fi, damned if I know what is. “You see, I keep thinking that we need a new type of language… a language of poetry… a language of the dancing bee that tells us where the honey is.” The whole conversation between Andre and Wally strikes me as a classic case example of how ENTPs interact with ENFPs. Wally, our ENTP, pokes and prods Andre, our ENFP. Wally is interested in Andre’s point of view. Wally wants to understand and assess the pure logic of Andre’s utopian argument. When the chance comes, Wally objects to Andre- referring to scientific epistemology and the unshakeableness of what we conceive to be “logic” in our Western civilization. But Andre doesn’t pay any mind to that type of dogmatic adherence to science. He listens only to the voice inside himself and his feelings.
