Mermaids are known to be reclusive yet mischievous in most folklore and stories. I believe the idea of mermaids lurking in the (unknown) / depths of the ocean is very subconscious. I would pertain it to Ni. They are also renowned for having mystical powers sometimes or other abilities and push toward what they think is suitable for the underwater world, like fish and the health of the sea. They are also forced to hide from the upper world to keep safe from humans. This makes me think 6w5 or 6w7. I believe it refers to the environment and society, so Fe. Whether the mermaid is good or evil, their intentions are clear. If we are voting for the idea of what mermaids are, I vote INFJ. However, when we see mermaids on television and playwrights, I vote ENFP 7w6. Television and cartoons continuously broadcast the curious mermaid exploring abstractions and going about life in a playful manner. They love to explore the unknown outwardly and project their views and conceptions of the world through their lens. If you want to vote for ENFP mermaids, it would be that specific mermaid in a particular story.
ชีวประวัติ
Mermaids, or more generally merfolk, are mostly portrayed as beautiful women or men with fish- or dolphin-like tails in place of legs. Others are more blatantly sea-creatures with few human characteristics and are quite ugly. And then there's underwater folk who look like humans but can survive and breathe underwater and may have some odd physical adaptations that are well-hidden until they return to the sea. Sometimes merpeople can turn into humans, or vice versa, under certain circumstances. The way this is done and differences in the "rules" surrounding this vary. Sometimes they are portrayed as evil seductresses (sometimes called devil fish) who lure sailors to their deaths. Others, their singing is a sign of disaster, but not from seduction. In most mythologies, they display inscrutable and sometimes dangerous amorality. Sometimes they are good but flirty and mischievous. Sometimes they are innocent and naive. Sometimes they are honorable, and resent us for harming their home.
