Stephen Chow’s creative approach can also be explained more convincingly through the Ti–Ne cognitive-function framework. Ti is reflected in his internal analysis of comedic structure, linguistic logic, and performance timing. Many of his jokes are not primarily intended to express emotion in the conventional sense. Instead, they deliberately disrupt ordinary linguistic conventions, social identities, and causal logic. For example, a character may deliver an absurd statement with complete seriousness, or push a commonly accepted social assumption to an illogical and ridiculous conclusion. This is a typical form of logical deconstruction. Ne, meanwhile, is evident in his rapid associative leaps and his combination of different genres and cultural elements. Martial arts, football, comic books, gangster films, fairy tales, religious imagery, and Cantonese slang can all appear within the same scene. This creative process resembles a continuous exploration of how different ideas can be recombined, rather than the development of a work around a single, fixed value position.
