𓏵 𝗖𝗥𝗢𝗦𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗘𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗔𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠 𝟰 (𝗦𝗣/𝗦𝗫) 𝙒𝙃𝙔 𝙎𝙓6 𝘿𝙊𝙀𝙎𝙉'𝙏 𝙒𝙊𝙍𝙆 It's pretty obvious that Cross is somewhere in the reactive triad (468) but I have to disagree with core 6 due to his motivations not being primarily about fear but envy instead. When Cross killed everyone in his timeline and stole Frisk/Chara's soul, he expected to use the OVERWRITE button himself but due to him being a monster, he wasn't able to. When the realization sunk, he couldn't to anything but cry bloody tears. Everytime he visited a timeline and saw everyone happy, he resented it because he can't have it. And if he can't have it, no one can. He envies those who are more fortunate to have a family around them. The fixation of e4 lies in envy and shame, a feeling of being incomplete and misunderstood by eveyone. He refused to go to the Omega Timelime because they "didn't understand him" and he went on his way to steal parts of AU's to recreate his home. "Who would understand my grief when my existence seems so fake?" He refused Dream's and everyone elses help because they can't understand his sorrow. He wallows in his pain, asking, what's the point of all this? ── .✦ To touch on the difference between 4 and 6, we have to look on the externalization vs. internalization between them. 4's are focused on their inner world and their own feelings (What does this mean to me? What does it say about me?) while 6's focus is on the external world. If they are talking about a problem, 6 will often talk about how others are treating them and speculate about their motives and intentions whereas 4s will talk about their feelings and their values & how they were treated and related to, at most bringing others up as contrast. When Frisk asked Cross to kill him, Cross refuses because even if it's all just XGaster's weird obsession, it was real to Cross even if Frisk insists on their universe was just a fake one (Though that belief changes after killing everyone and not being able to use OVERWRITE) "Despite all of this madness, I feel happy with all I have here. I wouldn't change anything even if I were someone else." ── .✦ Another thing that separates 4 and 6 is realism vs. impressionism. As reactive types, they both care about authencity but their definitions differ. For 6 authenticity means not polishing and not adding anything artificial. Showing your real flaws, not hiding anything. This makes them seem trustworthy, not having to hide anything. For 4s authenticity isn't just the result of leaving things as they are but rather a process of distillation, of boiling stuff until the real, deep and fundamental remains, of getting away from that which is just meaningless arbitrary and fake. It's about getting your life choices, aesthetic & your work to accurately reflect your inner self. Finding your true core and the real you. "Yes, our origin is an imitation... ready-made from another. But.. our pride, our experiences... Maybe they make us authentic." The realism movement is about showing things as they are, a reflection of the world. In impressionism, the idea was that art is not about depicting reality, but about making things visible. Cross' suffering wasn't about the reality itself but about what it meant to him. He has manipulated and played by his best friend and was disappointed in their actions. Is he building theories alongside while someone talks, speculating about their reasons, motivations etc. or is he looking inside, taking in and interpreting their responses? ── .✦ For the instincts, Cross is a self-preservation clear as crystal. A sexual is someone like Error, who tries to make himself more interesting and try to "woo" others. Error straight up attacks Ink simply because he was stealing the spotlight and people weren't talking about him. Cross' focus is on his survival and safety rather than attracting. This is another reason why people confuse self-preservation for 6s since a lot of their interests overlap. Self-preservation isn't solely about money, comfort, security. It's an interest in self (cuz you know...SELF-preservation...) If you're focusing on the self and finding ways to build skills for self, that's self preservation. Err... I don't know how to conclude this!! Basically Cross is a 4 sp and not a 6 sx. I hope this was a good read :)
