Okay, I’m going to make this quick; I have no idea why this fandom is so hesitant on typing characters as INTJ. Especially a character like him, who I would say is so stereotypically INTJ it hurts (And fits the functions, too which is pretty much why I’m writing this.) I struggled a lot with Shibusawa’s type at first because of the little screen and appearance time he has but at the start I knew there was no way he was ISFP. I don’t know how people actually come to that conclusion. Trust me, I’ve read the one argument. “Fi- He keeps searching for the meaning of his life.” Not what Fi is. Fi is personal values/beliefs. In fact, you could correlate it to High Ni because high Ni users always search deeper into the raw Se data for meanings. What personal values does Shibusawa have and its guidance on how he sees the world? Because I don’t see it. He’s pretty focused on his own personal, subjective unrealistic meaning of the world and digging into meanings (Dom Ni). Look at these quotes from him; “I understand everything, now. Why I’m here, why you appeared before me, and what his words mean. You must be the angel who saves me.” -Dark Apple, to Atsushi. “This elation that death brings me… can you feel it too?” “I will surely be able to go between my lines, beyond the light of empty spaces where another world awaits.” -To Dazai and Fyodor “To me, others are simply containers of flesh, filled with commonplace machinery” Very High Ni. How is Shibusawa someone who sees the world as it is over seeing it in a subjective filter? He isn’t. Most of the time he represses seeing things as they truly are; even more prominent in the Light Novel. What about High Te? “A man of intellect, Shibusawa was calculative in every one of his moves, proven in his planning during the dispute where he used the tide of the conflict, turning it into how he saw fit and furthered his own goals.” ~ The Wiki. Okay, Shibusawa used the opportunity of joining to help the special division (Because he knew it would benefit him with external factors; the special division had power and Shibusawa made a judgement on that to exploit it.) Not to mention Shibusawa’s character revolves about people’s abilities. He doesn’t see people as individual; just judging by their ability. (His entire collection of the ability “crystals.”) He even makes a remark at Akutagawa and Atsushi’s ability singularity. Does a character whose entire being was completely focused on exploring meaning beyond what could be seen realistically, not caring about any personal values or personal harmony someone you’d consider a Fi dom?
