The fact that the water signs are described as intuitive doesn't automatically make them Ni users. I think it's important to know that the terminologies that Jung used to categorize the functions (rational, irrational, intuition, thinking, extraversion…) are not strictly tied to the traditional meaning of these words. To say that: “water signs are the most intuitive of the signs” and not elaborating any further is simply not a good enough justification to vote for INFJ. Ni is a perceiving introverted function that sees reality through a subjective lens of abstract connections and meanings. They search for the hidden essence or nature of objects on the outside, that's why it might be difficult for these types to perceive the raw and objective reality that exists around them (inferior Se), because they prioritize the information that is hidden instead of the object itself. Si puts the focus on the impressions that the object has left in the subject. Meanwhile Ni gives importance to the essence of the object. Both functions perceive reality through a subjective lens, and they focus their energy on identifying patterns in the outside world that can help them build a better understanding of the world around them, that way they can guide themselves through life. However, Si is always going to be a lot more grounded, since they focus on concrete, specific details, aka explicit information. Ni on the other hand will always appear a little more detached, since their focus is more directed towards concepts, ideas or notions about objects, information that is not explicit, and might not be noticeable at first sight. (Si: details, analysis / Ni: bigger picture, synthesize) Apart from the claim that those born under this constellation are supposed to be intuitive, the description of Ni and cancer do not align at all, Si fits a sign such as cancer a lot better, I´ll put some examples down here: About Cancer: “The character is shy, timid, want of courage and also over sensitive to impressions from outside, and the environment in which it is placed.” “Cancers can be quite intrigued by objects with history attached to them — antiques, photos, souvenirs, and the like.” “They resist change to an extent, and concern themselves about being secure and safe in most everything they do.” “They are often quite reticent about sharing their inner selves to the rest of the world, and are often caught up in reminisce.” Si represents cancer a lot better than Ni. They adhere meaning and sentiments to different objects from the outside, and use these impressions to guide themselves through life. They are the literal representation of Si. Unlike Scorpio, that definitely has Ni on their stack, since it's described to be a sign that looks deep into things and likes to “get to the bottom of things”, cancer isn´t described as a sign that likes to look deep into things or searches for the nature or the essence behind objects. The energy of the cancer seems to be a lot more focused towards the tangible and sensorial than the abstract. About the auxiliary function, I would say that Fe fits cancer a little bit better than Fi, although Fi doesn't seem to be a bad match either. “Most Cancers react by withdrawing or retreating. Some have developed an ability to manipulate others to get what they want. They avoid direct confrontations almost as a rule.” “It has a strong orientation towards family and tribe, gravitating towards what is felt to be familiar and secure.” “The Cancer-type needs domesticity and sympathy, but it is difficult for him to be in sympathy with the same people for a long time; he is changeable in this line as well as in many others.” They overall seem to prioritize the harmony of the environment of the group or community over their own feelings or wishes. They dislike confrontation and extreme bluntness for this very reason, because these attitudes disrupt the harmony of the group. They seem to long for a feeling of community and they are capable of easily adapting to their social environment. Lastly I would like to ask if someone has any takes on the enneagram cause sp 2 doesn't seem quite right. I feel like sp 2 kinda contradicts cancer because it's constantly searching for protection in others, while cancer is quite the opposite, it's goal is to protect others. Apart from that they don't seem to be very dependent on others, quite the opposite, they tend to mistrust people and guard themselves from others. The passion of the 2 is pride too, which doesn't seem to fit cancer ar all. I was thinking maybe so 9, but it doesn't seem to be a very popular vote so idk. If someone has any takes on the enneagram please feel free to share them here.
ชีวประวัติ
Cancer (♋️) is the fourth astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Cancer, the Crab (June 21-July 22): Cardinal Water. Family-oriented, sensitive, cranky, tenacious. Ruling planet: The Moon. Tarot Card: The Chariot. Traditionally associated with Hermes. Perhaps the least obvious example, it seems to be related to Hermes' connection with sensitivity and emotions, as well as his liminal role as the psychopomp, which makes him associated with lunar deities.
