I don't know how I could tell right off the bat he was suspicious, but the further along in Season 1 I got the more his actions made my skin crawl, and very satisfying to see karma serve him correctly. Seems like a pretty textbook case of an unhealthy/malicious Fe dom given his skills in manipulation and saying the right thing to placate others, which would narrow it down to an ExFJ. Knowing what he knew about Vanya from the beginning and essentially planning out his steps to approach and then exploit her seems like a very Ni approach to things, as opposed to the Si type mentality of maintaining order and making sure others are okay, whereas he's all about upending the image Vanya has of herself [not to mention this "concern" with her well-being having malicious intent planned out far in advance]. Tertiary Se seems to make sense given how enamored he was with the outside world and Vanya's abilities (which interact with the world directly) once she started growing into them, not to mention having woodworking skills that aren't necessarily Se itself, but developed Se-users tend to be good at kinesthetic tasks like these, making them a good indicator. He delves far into his obsession with Vanya and getting her to be the "best" her she could be, which implies a complete disregard of his Ti which might've actually made him stop and think about things more rationally, but instead becoming gradually more unhinged and outright malicious over time. Best guess is a very unhealthy, dangerous, and manipulative ENFJ.
