E5 ARGUMENT INCOMING 🔥🔥 firstly, i want to say e9 Keiji is not out of the question. e5 and e9 are both good fits for him, so naturally they will both be found in his tritype. why e5>e9, though? one thing about keiji is that even though he's been around for most part of the game and we even got his backstory, he still is a very secretive character. even though we've found out so much about him it still feels like he can't be trusted, like there still is more to him than he lets on. at the beginning of the game, sure, you could easily think he's an e9, cooperative and overall trying to mantain the peace in the group. however, as others stated before, I really don't think he's playing peacemaker just for the sake of it, but because under these conditions it *is* the most rational thing to do. they're participating in a death game, obviously he wouldn't want arguments and irrational thinking as they wouldn't make any progress at all, their survival depends on it. everyone seems to be focusing on this particular trait of keiji but forget that e5's can do the same under these conditions. his character revolves on this facade he keeps, of "your friendly policeman", partly to make the more fainthearted feel safe, partly to keep his true identity hidden. the way i see it, he's doing this in this in order to never repeat the same mistakes of the past: the moment he shot his childhood hero, his career and purpose in life, the ones he aspired so much to, were basically over. he's deeply afraid of and scarred by his "incompetence" in the past. E5 basic fear: of being helpless, useless or incapable. furthermore, he's not scared of conflict OR acommodating with the group's ideas, quite the opposite, he's the one that keeps the discussion going and slowly makes everyone reach his conclusions. this can be seen in each of the main games: eg. the moment he voted for Kanna, that being the logical solution for their survival, even though nobody would've voted her instead of Shin. E9's are described as not being suspicious of others, accepting and trusting, but is this really true for Keiji? while he insists on this constant trust between everyone, he makes a very interesting point in Chapter 2, Part 2: "We have to suspect each other in order to trust each other." it's something he repeats multiple times, and is even refuted with his own statement by Sara the moment he is cornered with his trial video. again, i come back to my point of rational thinking > peace in the group. he knows what he's doing. he seeks cooperation, not to maintain general harmony, but to advance the discussion in order for him to reach the absolute truth. he's a policeman and former detective, after all. he knows exactly what to say to get information out of every source possible, and in the main game it is highly important of him to do so. i can understand why he could be seen as an E9, but i think it goes way deeper than that: mr friendly policeman, always maintaining the harmony in the group. it's clear his motives aren't that superficial, and he fits the role of the observer perfectly: not completely involved, but influencing the main discussions greatly. that's not to say he's manipulative, he's just doing the most rational thing in order to avoid everyone's execution. there's more to this and i'll probably continue but these are the main points i wanted to make
