Humbert Humbert represents a catalog of traits contrary to what the ordinary man would want to be: a poor devil sexually tormented, loose, selfish, manipulative, insecure. A resentful gelding incapable to be attracted to real women. His conflicts don’t recall sympathy, they recall compassionate revulsion, disgust. I understand he suffers, but he causes his own suffering. This guy is a loser. Clear use of Fe aux, tho. All his excuses are product of Ti tert, he follows his own sick logic for the realization of his plans, also to get rid of guilt.
