Jewel is not an Fe dom. She Te’s and Fi’s all over the place. I can see ESTJ somewhat, but, I just don’t really see the observer functions in her that an ESTJ has. Also, I think her Fi is pretty strong, so much so, some of her decisions are based almost entirely from this function, and without considering the consequences (implying inferior Ni). Instead, I’ll make the case she’s an ESFP. First off, we have to remember that when we first meet Jewel, she’s in a very unhealthy and stressed state. As we see from the second film, Jewel is from the Amazon where she is ripped from her family (her mother even presumably killed, probably by humans to add insult to injury) due to illegal logging. With her home and family ripped from her, naturally, she grows to resent the cause of her problems (humans and captivity). When Blu and the audience meet Jewel, it is this type of mental state she is in and I think why so many ESTJ votes, as her Te is abnormally apparent. However, to me, this comes off as a Se-Te loop of an ESFP. Se/Te are both extraverted functions and focus on taking action and can become rather tunnel-visioned on its goal. They’re in a constant “do” state without really thinking about their actions and tend to aggressively pursue their goal regardless of the consequences, due to the exclusion of Fi and Ni which help to temper things. Jewel really pivots in character during the Samba party when she sings. Its this point where she opens up to Blu and they start seriously bonding and learning to like each other, despite their major differences. This is because by this point, Jewel breaks out from her Se-Te loop and we can start seeing other elements of her personality and her other functions (and the functions we already did see, start to stabilize.) Her loop would explain her seemingly dual personality of coming across as someone with high Te in the first half of Rio and then becoming softer and, I guess to some, more “Fe”-like (though really it’s just healthy Se-Fi) towards the latter half of Rio and in Rio 2. Either way, by the end of Rio and thereafter, her Te is less pronounced as it reapproaches its more typical subordinate role to Fi. Jewel’s Fi, in combination with her inferior Ni, gets her into trouble a few times throughout the movies. But its namely used as the catalyst of the plot of Rio 2. Jewel wants to go back to the Amazon and get what she’s always wanted ever since the first movie, to be free and “live like birds”. But it comes at the expense of the family’s wishes, because Blu and the kids don’t show particular interest in Jewel’s values. It’s not that she’s being selfish, it’s just in her view, her Fi values are also best for her family. There were some clear signs that going to the Amazon would be a problem (I mean, Blu is still pretty domesticated, and their offspring too, that alone should be cause for hesitation) but this doesn’t seem to occur to her. Her inferior Ni is evidenced by her impulsivity and short-sightedness. Examples; the plot point of the second film just mentioned, her fight with Nigel which simply led to her capture in the first film. You can see Fi/tertiary Te lashing out to defend Fi/and inferior Ni when she dismisses Blu’s desire to go back to Rio de Janeiro (after he loses to the soccer game) and she then accuses him of being selfish, despite Blu (who has Fe) trying to accommodate her wishes from the very start. Off-handed observation: While other types can certainly have the desire to be free, we most often see this as a core element in xxxP types. "Flying is... it's freedom and not having to rely on anyone. Don't you want that?" (Jewel to Blu) Jewel’s primary drive is to attain freedom. To be free of control and others. This desire is prominent in both movies and basically defines her character. Is this desire a fabric of her identity or is it simply because it’s what she knows? I’m inclined to believe it’s the former.
ชีวประวัติ
#AnneHathaway Jewel is the deuteragonist of Rio and Rio 2 . Among other productions of the Rio line . She is a Spix's Macaw, previously believed to be the last female of her species. She is introduced to Blu to "save the species", but she is more concerned with running away. In Rio 2 , mother of three, she returns home to the Amazônia and is reunited with her lost family. Jewel is fearless, sassy, sagas. She values freedom and, at first, doesn't have much trust in humans. When she comes across Blu, she soon turns to physical aggression (she also assaulted an employee, pecked Marcelo, and tried to fight Nigel). But she is also sweet, and a devoted mother.
