Akane has been one of my favorite characters ever for a long time now, so i think it's the moment to finally comment on this dead fandom. Anyways, an important thing to take in consideration while typing her is that the person we know through most of the 999 is not Akane Kurashiki but her "June" persona. It seems basic but a lot of people seem to forget it; it's not like she's a completely different person but it is something that you need to keep in mind because through most of the 999 gameplay, June seems like an INFP, she's basically wearing a half-visible mask. For Akane, though, the mask is mostly an extension of certain parts of herself, but still far from what you would consider her "true" self. She's a very complex character. A lot of it comes automatically for her, because she can control it to and is capable of recognizing that she's settling into a mask; she will, at times, let her mask become more transparent with Junpei, but no matter what, there's still a filter. It's not a feeling of being held back, but rather like choosing to hold back certain things. It's a sense of privacy stemming from self protection and trust issues, as well as a general feeling no one would particularly care or benefit from seeing her real self. To summarize, June is a wall + censor + fake face. Going in actual analysis of her functions, the whole morphogenetic field is basically another metaphor, this time of Akane's Ni; Akane is not an stereotypical Ni-dom full of "aha" moments... It happens to Ni-doms, but not without them having already thought or heard about a subject, which is what she does. She doesn't magically blurt out conclusions: they come after she thought about everything and “let it cool down”, or if she had knowledge about something similar and made fast links between the subjects; That's exactly what Akane does, being especially visible in the way she accomplish the Nonary Games. Akane's Ni wants to organize, compartmentalize, and narrow down that abstract information. This doesn't mean her Ni won't accept new sources of information, it just means that when it is confronted with that new information, it quickly wants to place it into a box that is filled with corresponding information. It connects the dots. It seeks correlations. This is the how she manages to understand new concepts as quickly as possible. Her June persona seems like a Ne user instead because Akane frequently talks about different conspiracy theories, but at the end it's visible that this is caused by her Ni-Ti instead of Ne, since Ne users covers LOTS of info, possibilities, and ideas which can result in all sorts of wacky connections l but when you go in depth you see that Akane, as a Ni user, just actually links a select few ideas and connects them together in a way that reaches deep into the psyche. This is exactly why you have to separate June from Akane. Now, Akane's Fe is weird; When Akane puts the mask and does and says things to affect the outcome of a situation based on what she have internally concluded is necessary, is that considered manipulation since the others are at a “disadvantage” because they aren’t aware of Akane's plan? I bet is a yes; She uses it in a daily basis but we get to see it mostly just in a manipulative way. Leaving aside if she has done it for selfish reasons, Akane still has an internal code of ‘right and wrong’ that rationalizes what she does, and the popular belief that Fe just prioritizes other people is not necessarily true and ends up unfortunately making Fe a synonymous of anxiety-driven people pleasing and codependent behaviors, which can be true sometimes, but a lot of Fe users simply objectify their own perspective and view it as one of the many perspectives vying for consideration. They then choose the perspective that carries the most logical/moral weight. Thus it makes sense to choose themselves only when they can logically/morally justify why their perspective should overrule the other perspectives in the room. It's a form of moral rationality and they are deciding upon which perspective to prioritize, which is what happens with Akane. She also makes a good use of Ni-Fe together, Ni helps her develop patterns in the information that she takes in, which is Fe when she's with others. It's not just important that she knows the feelings of others, it's how she process those feelings and understand them. Her Ni allows her to compare her observations of one person against a massive brain database of other observations to find all the patterns. The result is that she can quickly and easily understand how the rest is feeling. Taking the analysis further, we go to talk about her Ti, which is pretty well-developed. In general, Ti is concerned with subjective logic. It's not the objective logic of Te where there's provable, universal facts involved. Ti is more concerned that whatever you're dealing with has consistent, internal logic, regardless if the initial concept is far-fetched +
