we all know she was a selfless and kind woman so i will not be elaborating on fe, but i’m honestly surprised at ni dom votes. she was raised to always live by what was ordered of her and that almost always results in unhealthy si. the abused child adapts to a perfect routine they aren’t allowed to question and never even so much as consider stepping out of. this is what caused her to fall ill in the first place, she was concerned she wasn’t fulfilling her duties and executing her routine right. she wasn’t praying enough, she could be sinning, she felt in danger. i know the little side story about her once liking a boy but immediately getting punished severely by her parents, but i think it just adds to my argument. it must have just added to her trauma of being expected to behave perfectly, one slip up and she was done for.

Anna Elisabeth "Anneliese" Michel (21 September 1952 – 1 July 1976) was a German woman who underwent 67 Catholic exorcism rites during the year before her death. She died of malnutrition, for which her parents and priest were convicted of negligent homicide. She was diagnosed with epileptic psychosis (temporal lobe epilepsy) and had a history of psychiatric treatment, which was overall not effective.
