First, I agree that he seems to be more ENTP than ESTP. Second, hot take but I think he is E9 rather than E7, it's just that his view of the world is very twisted. In his route (obviously spoilers), we see that Alfons' pleasure chasing is actually a mask, he is not truly enthusiastic about it - he doesn't hold any illusions that the next great thing is something that will make him happy. It's just a way to kill time, so it feels more like E9's narcotization than E7's idealization. He feels his life is worth nothing - which he nonchalantly brings up after shielding MC from bullet - and he puts others' happiness above his own so he tries to relieve others' pain as much as possible. Due to his upbringing, Alfons' methods are indeed very morally questionable, but in the end, his intents are for the sake of others. Besides, the reason Alfons doesn't want to get close to people not because he's afraid he will get bored, it will limit him or hurt him (which are typical reasons for E7 avoidance) but because he knows that in the end, he will hurt others too much due to his curse.
