Commercial divers are trained in the proper usage of a SCUBA (self-contained underwater breathing apparatus) in order to do jobs underwater. Underwater jobs may include things such as construction or repairs to submerged structures such as hydroelectric dams, the pillars/support of bridges over bodies of water or offshore oil rigs. There is also the job of the esteemed "underwater welders".
