Personally, I type Paul as ESFP | SEE | 7w8 | 782 (Sp7/Sx8/So2) | Chaotic Neutral | Sanguine-Melancholic | VFEL/SCUAN. I see him as ESFP/SEE because he's very impulsive, present-focused, and action-oriented. Paul tends to make decisions in the moment instead of thinking everything through, and he's especially comfortable taking risks. You can see this a lot in his fighting style and his attitude toward danger. He's also very energetic, confident, adventurous, and socially bold. He enjoys getting attention, knows how to connect with people, can naturally take a leadership role in his party, and is pretty successful at using his charm in relationships. He's also not very organized or theoretical, and his thoughts can jump between different subjects pretty easily. He has a lot of enthusiasm and generally doesn't enjoy being around people who are too passive or low-energy. For 7w8, I strongly prefer 7 over 8. Paul's core seems much more about freedom, experiences, stimulation, curiosity, and escaping from problems than about control or dominance. He constantly looks for something to experience or distract himself with when things become painful or restrictive. The 8 wing shows in his independence, confidence, aggression, fearlessness, physicality, and especially his refusal to let other people restrict him. He's naturally adventurous, enjoys fighting and swordsmanship, takes care of his physical condition, and has that aggressive/intense side that comes out strongly in battles. For 782, I see the order as Sp7 > Sx8 > So2. Sp7 is definitely the core for me because of how strongly Paul uses pleasure, adventure, sex, alcohol, and new experiences to escape from his problems and avoid emotional pain. Sx8 fits his intensity and possessiveness in intimate relationships. And So2 fits his strong social side, especially his relationships, how he expresses affection, his ability to lead and influence people, and how easily he can attract attention. I originally considered So4 because of his depressive side, but I think his social presence and influence fit So2 better. I also see him as Chaotic Neutral rather than Chaotic Evil. Paul obviously does a lot of selfish and irresponsible things, especially with his cheating and sexual behavior, and those actions can hurt people badly. But I don't think harming others is his actual goal. He's still capable of genuine love, attachment, guilt, remorse, and self-sacrifice. His behavior feels more driven by impulse, pleasure, freedom, and doing what he wants rather than actual malice. Sanguine-Melancholic fits him because he's normally energetic, social, enthusiastic, impulsive, and pleasure-seeking, but there's a much more depressed and vulnerable side underneath that. When he can't escape his problems anymore, he can completely shut down and isolate himself. After his family went missing, he became much more withdrawn and depressed, basically using sex and alcohol as ways to escape his emotional pain. So I think the contrast between his energetic outward personality and his darker, more emotionally vulnerable side fits this temperament pretty well. And finally, VFEL might look strange at first because Paul often runs away from his problems, but I don't think that automatically means weak will. 1V fits his strong determination and independence when he actually wants something. He's stubborn, confident, physically courageous, and doesn't like being controlled or restricted. 2F fits how much he values his physical condition, muscles, fighting ability, and swordsmanship. 3E fits his emotional side because his feelings are strong but mostly internal, and he doesn't really understand or express them well, which makes him seem fragile when those emotions finally come out. 4L fits his lack of interest in logic, theory, and academics. He's much more practical and result-oriented; he cares more about whether something works and gets the result he wants than about having perfectly logical reasoning behind it.
