I think that we have too little things to understand him, but people are generalizing in my opinion. > He had a gut feeling but it doesn't mean he's automatically INFJ. (He's the closest friend of Gwen, he could've understood on his own just by knowing her. Besides, gut feelings can happen to everybody.) > He wants to feel special, but it doesn't make him automatically INFP. (Obvious reasons.) I'd say INFP because of how he thinks. I doubt an INFJ would try so hard to become special as taking the risk of becoming a monster. Besides, he would've had to think about the consequences too, such as leaving his life by hiding his identity to everyone much like Gwen does. It looks more like a Fi thing to do the one of trying to feel better by doing such a thing instead of being a Ni dom. Plus him saying "I'm fine" on the brink of death doesn't prove anything either. Both INFJs and INFPs are empathetic, either way he would've understood he messed up and tried to make Gwen not feel bad because obviously HE was the one that screwed up.
