I’m actually not sure where the whole ISTP typing is coming from. Xaden is about the best example of a healthy ENTJ as you can get. His first extroverted function is clearly Te: He’s a quick decision-maker, uses external data to make his decisions, and I see a lot more Fi in him than Fe. ENTJs are known for being ambitious and making quick decisions in leadership positions. They’re known for seeing multiple rational solutions and quickly discerning and enacting the best possible solution for the situation, even if that makes other people angry or seems controlling. They’re also known for doing whatever they can to help further the goals and dreams of those they love and care about, which he repeatedly does for Violet even before they get together in Fourth Wing. ISTPs are not known for this. ISTPs are better known for being go-with-the-flow; Xaden is anything but laid-back. I honestly don’t see any ISTP in Xaden at all. I see a clear-cut, healthy ENTJ who isn’t a villain.
