I think people misunderstand how si works. Si is very poor for recalling structure and spatial relationships. Si typically remembers things as a culturally accepted icon or subjective flat geometric symbol, not its actual physical reality. For example ask any strong si user to draw a horse and they would draw the culturally accepted icon for a horse, ask them to draw a scene from their memory and they would draw everything to the right number, i.e (5 apples in the basket on the ochre table top) but the shape and appearance would be flat geometry and without perspective. They may ‘remember’ the sensations and even smell, but the truth is they are recalling their subjective emotional response to the event not the event itself. Si remembers the sentimental subjective value of an event (and the numerical/ labels) not the underlying anatomy of the scene. A photo, not a three dimensional model. Jung Gi is the opposite. He does not recall specifics, rather he is drawing from his understanding of the big picture. Perspective, anatomy, he manipulates and generates forms in his head, drawing from a subconscious catalogue collected from Se, assembled with ni. Furthermore while in the military Jung Gi predicted the officers would likely force him to draw certain things for them and he feigns having no drawing ability. This predictive capacity I suspect is due in part to well developed ni. It also illustrates his view on authority and convention. Jung Gi never talks about the ‘method’ and he follows no concrete methodology. I cannot imagine a dominant Si/ te user behave in this way. Furthermore he does not put heavy emphasis on practicality, and ‘follows his gut’. He draws what he wants when he wants and he doesn’t care what you think. Also much of his work has potential for deep symbolism. Of course that might just be my intuition talking, but my hunches are usuall correct.
