Kurt was an imaginative guy. He loved to paint and he spent many hours building sculptures out of dolls bought from thrift stores and all other sorts of garbage. He would spend hours writing late into the night, filling his journal with his many meandering thoughts. All of that suggests pretty high openness. His reckless, unruly, disruptive behaviour in his youth and his drug problems and inability to fulfill contractual obligations in adulthood all suggest low conscientiousness. His demeanour in interviews is typically awkward and reserved and he was an unpopular kid who never had many friends so we can assume his extroversion was low. I get the impression that he was pretty bad at dealing with confrontation and preferred to just cut people out of his life rather than confront them. I think when he kicked Chad Channing out of Nirvana, he and krist basically just stopped calling him and never had a conversation with him about him getting kicked out. He definitely seems like a guy who wanted to be liked by the people around him so I would guess fairly high agreeableness for all the parts of his life when he wasn't a huge junkie. His insane hyper sensitivity to criticism and the way people perceived him, his dark and depressive work and his eventual suicidal tendencies all suggest extremely high neuroticism. High O. Low C. Kurt Donald Cobain (February 20, 1967 – April 5, 1994) was an American singer, songwriter, and musician. Born in Aberdeen, Washington, Cobain formed the band Nirvana with Krist Novoselic and Aaron Burckhard in 1987 and established it as part of the Seattle music scene which later became known as grunge. Nirvana's debut album Bleach was released on the independent record label Sub Pop in 1989.
