I implore you guys to read awtwb if you thinks he's a 2, because he is a VERY obvious 7. He's clearly a 7, with his constant need for experiencing things and satiating his own curiosity is completely a 7 trait (gluttony). In fact, when this is out of control, 7s find themselves in potentially dangerous and/or sticky situations, which is basically Shepard's life story, if we're gonna be honest. He's also completely optimistic even when the situation is entirely inappropriate– which reflects the sexual 7's trait of idealisation, and inability towards experiencing the mundane and being bored. It's pointed out repeatedly that Shepard is an EXTREMELY charismatic person, which reflects people in general, but Shepard's charisma focuses on the individual instead of the group. He's highly curious about people, and finds himself interested with almost anyone– he's definitely a sx 7 in this sense. I was deliberating whether he's so or sp blind, but I think he's more socially blind because I don't see him as the countertype 7 at all. To me, Shepard completely indulges in his gluttony, and sp 7s are known to have many connections with others which are mostly superficial, as the reason for their existence is mainly focused on opportunities, which reflects Shepard's many connections to the magickal world, and how he is able to know possibly more than Penelope– his connections to others. Plus, he reverts to rationalisation (7) under pressure instead of repression (2)– when penelope confronts him about being engaged, he keeps bring up the fact that he's not "exactly a liar" because he never "meant to lie to her." Complete rationalisation used to ease the discomfort and pain of others, and he uses positive reframing as a justification for his lying by omission by explaining it in positive terms. Many 7s can reflect 2s because they can be very involved in wanting the group to like them, and helping others in general, but these don't reflect a two's motivation of a give and take for love/acceptance. Shepard's core motivations completely align with that of a 7.
