“Indeed, with me you will never be able to have patience. And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge?" Admittedly, there is limited information about Al-Khidr, so I won’t be able to have access or discern his true nature or personality. However, I will try to assign a type based on his role/mission and virtues he embodies. There is much insight to be gained from the narration about Al-Khidr in Surah Al-Kahf, verse 60 - 82. Essentially, Al-Khidr’s mission is in connection with the inner, true meaning and reason of events and not merely what is apparent (Ni). The actions that Al-Khidr took in the story are confounding, even shocking on the surface to others - as reflected by Prophet Moses’ reactions - but can be argued to be virtuous in the sense that such actions prevent a greater evil from happening in the future or establish a greater good in the future. Al-Khidr’s task/mission seemed to focus on ultimately benefitting others in general, but the way he accomplished such tasks revolved around making use of the resources or the the surroundings, and thus I suppose his actions can be a reflection of the underlying processes of either Ni-Fe or Ni-Te. In the first instance, Al-Khidr caused a defect on a boat/ship full of poor people, to prevent the boat from travelling further out to sea. Had Al-Khidr not taken action, the boat would eventually be seized by a tyrannical king who we can surely infer would bring much suffering to the people on the boat. In another instance, Al-Khidr found a collapsed wall (which hid a treasure) - but instead of taking the treasure, he merely restored the wall (thereby concealing the treasure). He later informed Moses that he restored the wall so that the treasure could only be discovered by two orphan boys later on when they reach maturity. The treasure belonged to the orphans, and their father had been righteous, so the safeguarding of treasure was a reward and an act of mercy on some level.
