I’ve seen some people talk about how he ‘switched personalities’ when the whole disaster at the Decapolis happened so, as someone who has an ENFJ family member, I thought I’d put in my two cents. ENFJS are by nature gregarious, charming, and extroverted (not to mention extremely perceptive and intelligent,) but that doesn’t make them invulnerable to stress. To an ENFJ, in my experience, there’s nothing more stressful than a situation out of their control, being unable to persuade others, and somewhat out of their understanding (until Judas explained why the people were upset both Andrew and Philip, Fe-users, couldn’t quite see it.) So of course he’d “switch” and go into a Ti-grip, in which he began to be over-analytical, obsessed with being precise about every decision he made and their consequences. That’s why he kept telling Andrew how disastrous what they had done was, the over-arching consequences of it, and tied again and again to Ti-solve (analyze) the situation in lieu of Fe persuasiveness. “I’m thinking (Ti) and my thought make my body heavy.” “You think the situation with the gentiles isn’t difficult?” “How are we talking about holidays right now?!l “We caused a multinational crisis! People might die!” Inferior Ti is concerned with analyzing data to find an ultimate answer (since Fe was unable to,) and Philip’s Ti-grip thinking throughout the trip back home has arrived to that answer: “a multinational crisis!” So in light of what he believes WILL happen (the crisis) everything else is irrelevant and he becomes short-tempered and moody, disregarding his normally expansive Fe. If there are any ENFJS that have their own two cents I’d love to hear your thoughts lol 💕 I’m only speaking from my limited Fi-dom perspective but hopefully this rings true. 🥹💕
