What’s with all the 3w2 votes? She doesn’t seem very image-oriented at all. She also doesn’t really have the E3 Vanity. So1 sounds more correct to describe her to me, though a moderately healthy one. In the social 1, “there is an equivalent of anger in their passion for being the owner of the truth.” While truth is subjective to each individual, Meryl seems to believe pretty confidently that her way of doing things when it comes to reporting is objectively correct. This is part of what gets her involved with Vash in the first place…she didn’t once consider the fact that what she was doing could get her into danger because she was so focused on doing her job as a reporter…i.e., meeting her ideals and matching what she believed her “truth” to be. In fact, this “charging ahead” attitude of hers never changes, because she is so confident that this is the correct way to approach things. She even lectures Roberto from time to time because of his much more lax approach to journalism. This is much in the fashion of a social 1, who will sometimes take the role of a teacher of sorts because of how confident they are in their correctness. Ultimately, though, I am open to other arguments. I wasn’t actively looking for examples of Meryl’s behavior while watching, so if anyone has any other argument against social 1, please let me know!
