A Parsi harpooneer who serves on Ahab's boat. Ahab keeps him and the rest of the boat's crew hidden aboard the Pequod at the start of the voyage; they only emerge once the ship first sights a whale. The one harpooneer who does not qualify for the Noble Savage trope, as Persian culture - though undoubtedly foreign to the book's intended audience - wasn't really seen as savage. He's also not exactly noble.
