The Eight Character Types

RESPONSIVENESS ACTIVITY (A) EMOTIVITY (E) The combination of the three fundamental factors gives eight Character types; Choleric, Passionate, Sentimental, Phlegmatic, Nervous, Sanguine, Apathetic and Amorphous. These are the basic pure characters, but, because of the variability in the degree of the components, each of the eight characters may have one or two others as auxiliary. eg. the Passionate can also be paraCholeric or paraSentimental or paraPhlegmatic etc. No character, however, may have an auxiliary its opposite ie. Passionate cannot be paraAmorphous, the Choleric paraApathetic etc. So that, as a rule of thumb, an auxiliary must only have one element different to the main character type.
