Mathematics is extremely INTP subject. Not even IxTJ fits it anywhere. People are really confusing computations with mathematics (stuffs done in high school), which is more ISTJ. Pure mathematics or abstract mathematics is very very Ti, hugely logic and proof-driven. Even ISTP would be better fit than INTJ. Some topics may be bit IxTJ (like Complex Analysis), but in general Ti-dom. Ne is also fairly present in the nature of the subject, the ideas seem out of no where and not very cohesive. Mathematics tend to use Ti-Si a lot. At each step, there are questioning of existence, contradiction, proof, condition, counterexample rather than just following a buch of step. The notations is very Si-ish and applying previous examples in a certain context resembles Si. But logic first, experience second. Also inf Fe subject. Does not bother about making the notations or language more easier, rather focus on making it more accurate so that it is universally accepted. No Fi is present in this subject, Te-Fi subject will be something like Physics, which is not as botheringly rigorous as pure maths and tend to speak its own mind and intuition. No wonder, INTPs make the greatest mathematicians. Even, INTJ mathematicians either have to adapt to Ti-like logic using Te and use a lot of Ni, or choose a more Te-Fi subdomain in maths.
