Carol doesn't show the 2's core "passion" of attention-seeking pride in any way, nor does she really fit any of the 2 subtypes. I think 6w7 sp/so is much more likely here - she's generally pretty friendly and upbeat but becomes very overtly anxious and reactive under stress, particularly where her son is concerned (think of her reaction to finding out that a doctor was at her home - she freaked out immediately and wouldn't calm down until she saw for herself that the kid was okay); she's emotionally intuitive while also tending towards indecision and sending mixed messages about her desires. For her sociotype, I'm leaning towards IEE. Carol is an extremely stereotypical Delta NF, showing a very strong usage of Ne and Fi together throughout the movie: for instance, she's apparently the only waitress in the restaurant who is willing to deal with Melvin because she tries to focus on the positive aspects of his character, she's easily able to establish a strong and intimate bond with Simon on the trip to Baltimore despite having never met him before, and she's extremely moved when Melvin tells her that he makes her "want to be a better man." The main reason I think IEE over EII is because she's fairly exuberant and even playful when she's not worried about anything (moreso Fe demonstrative than Fe ignoring) and because I think she's a little too assertive for Se PoLR. It also has the benefit of making her and Melvin duals.
