I think Astrid and her role in the DB storyline illustrate a principle about Si that people often ignore: Si is not about tradition in the usual sense that we use it, but it is about tradition subjective to the Si user. Si has a stereotype about being the "conservative" and "traditional" cognitive function, and while this isn't entirely or necessarily wrong, it isn't really correct either, and Astrid shows this perfectly. The traditional way of the DB was to use the Night Mother to be informed of contracts they needed to take care of, and to use the Listener to hear out what the Night Mother had to say. If Si was about tradition, Astrid would have been all about this when both the Listener and Night Mother showed up, but she wasn't. In fact, she tried to have the Listener killed by the PO and wanted everything that happened after the Dragonborn showed up to disappear. "I just wanted things... to stay the way they were. Before Cicero, before the Night Mother. Before... you." This shows how Astrid disregarded the actual traditions of the Dark Brotherhood (5 Tenets, the Listener, the Night Mother, etc.) in favor of her own, subjective traditions in the Dark Brotherhood (Listening for rumors of BS performances, her own group of people, no Night Mother, No Listener). This is how Si actually works, it is tradition subjective to the user.
Biyografi
Astrid is a Nord assassin, the leader of the last remaining Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary in Tamriel, and the wife of former Companion Arnbjorn. She also initiates many of the quests in the Dark Brotherhood questline. When you first meet her in the Abandoned Shack, Astrid wears the typical Dark Brotherhood garb consisting of Shrouded Armor, Shrouded Gloves, Shrouded Boots, and a Shrouded Cowl. However throughout the rest of the Dark Brotherhood questline, she is seen without her cowl. She also carries around the Blade of Woe.
