She's not a character in her own right, she's simply Elizabeth's mind in another body. She was not "selfish", Elizabeth chose to stay in Sue's body because it is a younger body, Sue hated Elizabeth just as much as Elizabeth hated herself. There's no "she", Elizabeth has always been in complete control of Sue's actions. Elizabeth recognized the man Sue slept with, and there are many other signs that Elizabeth remembered everything Sue did. Because Sue is not a character with her own personality, she has no free will, she's nothing but a different body with Elizabeth's brain.
