She is a great example of an INFP that developed her Te later in life. In her early life she was lost, she was very religious but it took her a while to finally give herself totally to her religious convictions. Even after that, she was really doubtful and confused, she was VERY anxious and was changing her mind constantly about what God wanted her to do and often thought it was the devil talking to her. During the first 20 years or so as a nun, she still had doubts and couldn't let go of what she perceived as "comforts" in her life and wasn't as strong willed and tough as she thought she should be. She only ended up going after her goals once she was fully convinced of what she had to do, and only with the support of her powerful and influential friends, when she was already in her late 40s. Then, once she was sure about everything, she became a force of nature and did not let anything stop her, but it took her a long time to get to that point. And she always had a very empathetic and understanding side for those that opposed her. As an INFP myself that used to be very religious, I see a lot of my struggles in her. She was really tough to herself and was trying to be very rigid, formal, Si-Te like, which she obviously wasn't, instead of leading a more Fi-Ne life, and that caused her a lot of anxiety, guilt and absence of peace. She eventually found her way and started to use his Si-Te to support his Fi-Ne idea of reforming her order, and then she finally managed to be happy.

Teresa of Ávila, born Teresa Sánchez de Cepeda y Ahumada, also called Saint Teresa of Jesus (28 March 1515 – 4 or 15 October 1582), was a Spanish noblewoman who felt called to monastic life in the Catholic Church. A Carmelite nun, prominent Spanish mystic, religious reformer, author, theologian of the contemplative life and mental prayer, she earned the rare distinction of being declared a Doctor of the Church over four centuries after her death. Active during the Catholic Reformation, she reformed the Carmelite Orders of both women and men. The movement she initiated was later joined by the younger Spanish Carmelite friar and mystic, John of the Cross. It led eventually to the establishment of the Discalced Carmelites. A formal papal decree adopting the split was issued in 1580. Teresa, who had been a social celebrity in her home province, was dogged by early family losses and ill health. In her mature years, she became the central figure of a movement of spiritual.
