The last whose realm was fair and free indeed. Lindon survived into the Fourth Age under his confidante Cirdan, and Lothlorien and Rivendell were in good hands. However, Thanduil was essentially a repeat of Thingol and Doriath. Thranduil was an admirable elf, but his tax policy and IR could have been better. Gil-galad on the other hand did everything right. One of the best things he did was establish Lindon. Despite not being a Falathrim like his mentor, he understood the power of water and established the de-facto seaport of the elves. He also 2v1ed Sauron with Elendil, but I think nation building was more important. I prefer the interpretation of him being brother to Finduilas because xNTJ-ENFP is a goated pairing, and it was also Tolkien's final word on the topic. Moving forward with that in mind, we can interpolate a lot of amazing feats in his uprising. Gil-galad managed to fill in Turgon's power vaccuum right after he died. His right to rule likely came from from the title of High King of all Noldor going to his ancestor Finarfin in Valinor, and his inheritance of Nargothrond from his father Orodreth. I'm pretty sure elves are patrilineal, but on the off chance they are not, Finduilas was already dead by that point. Gil-galad had the right, but he managed to gather actual support from his reputation of managing crises and hosting refugees. He had two projects in the Bay of Balar which came to the aid of the Falathrim in F.A. 473, the survivors of Gondolin in F.A. 510, and the survivors of Doriath in F.A. 538. Gil-galad and Cirdan were there for the Fall of the Falas, Fall of Gondolin, and the Third Kinslaying. This means he got the support of the Falathrim, Gondolindrim (Turgon's people), and Sindar. Not just because of his lineage and connection with Cirdan; Gil-galad emerged as a leader at the end of the First Age, and ushered in the second age with the establishment of Lindon. Nargothrond was dissolved due to its current occupation as a dragon's hoard, but I'm pretty sure the survivors of Finrod's people would have gone with Gil-galad regardless.
Biyografi
The son of Fingon and the High King of the Noldorin Exiles after Turgon's death. Gil-galad remained king throughout the Second Age, ruling from Lindon, and befriended the Men of Númenor and, later, Arnor and Gondor. He received two of the Three Rings of the Elves, but gave Vilya to his herald, Elrond, and Narya to his friend, Círdan. He was killed in Mordor in the War of the Last Alliance.
