Okay. Start from the most transparent function: From my perspective, during his reign as a head of the village, he already went down into grip stress, saw the possibilities of his younger twin, Akira, will end up becoming 'dirty' too (dirty as he put it in his own word). This is also the reason as for why he's locking akira in ice castle and the ice jail as we saw in last ep of the season 1 for no reason. So, excessive fear.. this can be caused by Ne inf.. This cause distortion on his way of thinking & perspective, which also changed his, once, gentle trait into the state of worry and fear, as we see in the story So, types with Ne inf: xSxJ At first i thought he was a Fi user since he shown great attachment to his brother, and refer him as his saviour. But he then choose to ask the villagers to let his brother out from the village, which is vry typical for Fe user. If he has high Fi, he would simply just run and left the village with his brother. As for Sx, I think its more to Si rather than Se. But because Yui's screentime is relatively short in the anime, so i choose Si. In this case, his Si intertwined with Fe. He values tradition of the village. He choose not to throw away his responsibility as the head of the village by continuing to withstand and endure every hardship & responsibility that came with it 'alone', and not to run away together with akira, because, he said to Akira, he's still have 'something to do'. So far we have Ne inf, Fe dom/aux, Si dom/aux, lastly i would say, Tx. Ne in inf position, Fe/Si dom/aux (as we discussed previously), the only possibility is Tx in tert. Well as for his Tx, it could be taken from many. I dont see him devised/ formed some kind of strategic 'plan'. He simply rely on 'authority' even when he lost all trust to the villagers, to let go of his brother. I know he's thinking a lot from the story monologeu, ex: when he comparing his brother and his own situation to the suffering of his parent. But this 'thinking' is directed inwardly, to himself, rather than project it outwardly and using it as a base to 'create a plan for escape', maybe or to invent a new rules, etc. So, i think its Ti Then putting all in order, we have, following the rules in jungian, Si Fe Ti Ne -> ISFJ. Regarding his ennea, looking at his pattern of disintegration then I will choose core 6(w5). As for tritype, i can say in high certainty that he also has 8, but im kinda unsure for his heart triad.. Edit#1: I saw some statistic voted him for INFJ which is Se inf. I didnt see him indulging into sensory experiences whatsoever in the last arc of s1. And plus, after kabane saved him, he start to call him -dono despite him being older. Well.. i think this is a little too rigid (compared to all of INFJ i've known. Or it may be just the writer's preference.. tbh i dont rly know). Usually INFJ prefer to drop the formalities (unless everyone do it) and if rly hve to use it, only when its needed (by whatever way that is apparent to them) to avoid consequence. He refers kabane as -dono to show respect and grateful for saving him and taking care of his brother, this is traditional honorific, that, maybe taught in his village as basic etiquette (very Si-ish).. Again, i may be biased but ive already laid out my explanation above. So freely present your thought to correct me if you think I am wrong. Thanks~! Edit#2: I hvent memorized the whole function of all types so i'll just leave it here to study it later. For the sake of argument, if we want to explain him as Nx user -> the possibility is Si inf. Si inf in grip could also behave the way Yui is, too. Another common characteristic of Si inf is tunnel vision, searching only for Akira & ignoring his condition or his environment. But if finding his brother is the source of his grip, then he should be gradually return to his usual self by the time he found his brother. but hes not Being slapped by his brother and told to share his burden eases his overused func + finding companion he could once trust relieves him a lot. (I dunno the effect of the stone to his personality tho).. Mmhm.. Ti or Te inf is also possible. But Te is unlikely, though i wont banish it Nx user (Nx in dom/aux), will try to solve the problem from other perspective/ outside the box. While yui in this case rely mainly on challenging the stone directly bcs of his previous knowledge of village tradition.. This is one of his episodes of looping. Hes looping a lot since the beginning of the last arc.. but i think this is the most strongest looping for me that gives off his type.. I think the reason for why he chose to approach the stone after sending off his brother, and his purpose (after finding his brother) hve to be put into consideration too since it holds important key to understands his preferred functions.. i kinda forget abt em since i watched while being distracted As for me i will just stick to Ne inf for now bcs it explains most of his behaviour that makes the most sense to me.
