I do not believe she is an ENFP. Debra is extroverted, no doubt. She is very emotional yet incredibly emotionally unintelligent, quite the whirlwind type of person (F). She is neatly dressed but only for work, outside of it, she is more practical and/or sporty, doesn't stick to a clear structure, is flexible and often acts on impulse (P). She is detail-oriented, focuses on the present and facts. But why isn't she an N type? Debra is not, or rarely, self-reflecting, doesn't see the bigger picture or try to find the deeper meaning behind things and judges easily without hearing anyone out. While N's can be just as stubborn, they still tend to collect more information over a period of time and weigh them before judging. They are theoretical, curious, search for truth, and if they do, they are willing to adapt to it while S prefer their way and simply don't want to change or find it hard to. While Dexter (INTJ) searched for the truth about Harry, Debra desperately clung to what she wants to believe about him and blamed Dexter. Apparently, ENFP and ENFJ are twin flames but I see not much resemblence between her and me. I believe she is ESFP. But an unhealthy, inwardly insecure ESFP. An unhealthy mix of xSFx. I don't know much about cognitive functions, but perhaps they can make it more accurate. I will look them up right now. Looked it up. I believe she is Se and Fi. She is straightforward and direct, sees things only as they are and lives in the reality of here and now, judges by what she can see and feel, etc. In her case, her Fi is quite pronounced because she cares more about herself and her own moral standards than doing what she does in order to help others. I guess this leads her to being emotionally unintelligent and careless about other's feelings but sensitive to her own feelings. I do not intend to insult any ESFP with this by the way. So I am sorry if it came across like this and I believe there is much more to a person than their mbti. This was just my personal assessment based on the things I saw about Debra and Debra alone. There are so many wonderful ESFP characters out there but, as you might know now, she is certainly not my favorite and will have to go through some massive self improvement. I am at the end of season 3 so perhaps I will get so see some changes in the future seasons.
