I’ve been meaning to write an actual argument for ISTP Yoru for a while now, and recently his rework was released (his card in the new battlepass is GORGEOUS btw) which has given me the burst of motivation that I needed to finally type this out. Yoru is an ISTP, but the ENTJ votes are understandable. I think he seems more like an extrovert at first glance due to being a type 3 (although I could be wrong about this, I haven’t analyzed his enneagram in depth at all) I initially assumed Yoru to be an ENTJ myself, but this was more of me vibe typing than anything (thanks @KRAUS for pointing that out to me in one of my previous comments), and after analyzing his functions more closely rather than just slapping him as an ENTJ because of stereotypes, I can confidently say that he has Ti-Se-Ni-Fe in his function stack. I am open to other interpretations of course, but please read my argument carefully and genuinely consider it before attempting to convince me otherwise; I myself have also read the other arguments on this page for other types Dom Ti - In RETAKE (ep 2 cinematic) Yoru’s dom Ti is very apparent in contrast to Phoenix’s dom Se. Phoenix rushes in confident in his abilities to handle the situation without preparation. Yoru, however, is much more analytical and cautious due to his Ti. He would rather not rush in without a plan or a sense of his surroundings/opponents, and only steps in when he does because of Phoenix. From the official VALORANT wiki: “While he is irritable, he is not hotheaded nor is he impatient. In fact, his powers compel him to think strategically as he moves behind enemy lines unseen, and he takes his time with moving into position so as to ensure that he takes down his opponents perfectly.” This demonstrates a lot of Ti-Se. Yoru’s fighting style consists of him analyzing his situation, coming up with a quick plan, and then putting it into action. I know being “strategical” is stereotyped as a Te thing, but this doesn’t mean Ti users cannot be strategic; overall, I would argue that his approach appears to be more tactical than anything anyways. Aux Se - Yoru is also capable at improvising and dealing with his situation in the moment, as proven by the RETAKE cinematic. A lot of Yoru’s voicelines show Se qualities, such as: being present in the moment, comfort with spontaneity/taking things as they come "Should I shoot them in the face, or stab them in the back? I'll decide later." "So much fuss over nothing. Someone get me a bat, I'll finish this." "It's easiest if I sneak in and kill everyone. Don't make this complicated." Terti Ni - in WARM UP (ep 4 cinematic) Yoru makes a bet with Jett in which he believes that Killjoy’s bot will outdo Phoenix; he very easily concludes this, you could almost say it’s… intuitive… Inf Fe - Noticing Yoru’s Fe was really fun for me. It’s pretty cute! I honestly see no Fi in him, but inferior Fe is very plausible. I’ve noticed that Yoru has a “lone wolf” act, and comes across as very arrogant and disrespectful towards others. But I took a look at his voicelines to other agents, and I realized that his Fe is very present. He seems rude, yes, but almost all of his “mean” voice lines towards his teammates are actually backhanded compliments and seem to just be banter. His inf Fe makes him want to work with the team despite it not being his style. He’s too prideful to completely let his guard down, but he actually tries to get along with all the agents on his team, and even wants to work together with some of them. and he won’t actually pick fights with allies either; he just likes to tease. "I guess working with a team isn't that bad." "You're all obsessed with teamwork, so I'll try it. But just this once." "It's impressive what Breach can do when he shuts up for a second." "It seems your science **** has some use after all, Killjoy." "Phoenix, for once in your life, try waiting for the team. I know you can do it." (so encouraging! wow!) "Nice, Reyna. I don't know why the rest of us are even here." (if he was really as arrogant and prideful as he portrays himself to be he would never say that lol) "Hey, flower girl. I found some leaves. Do you want them?" (he wants to give her leaves… this line is so cute…) "Skye that was..." clears throat "...that was...pretty good." (why’s he so shy about saying this… someone has a crush…) So yeah! I think all these lines express Yoru’s desire for acceptance within the group and focus on group ideals. He’s never genuinely mean to his team. He tries to get along and adhere to the team’s values, even though otherwise he probably wouldn’t care about it.
Biyografi
Japanese native, Yoru, rips holes straight through reality to infiltrate enemy lines unseen. Using deception and aggression in equal measure, he gets the drop on each target before they know where to look. His basic abilities are Fakeout, which sends a mirror image of himself forward, flashing enemies who destroy it, and Blindside, which has him throw an unstable fragment from reality that creates a flash when colliding with something. His signature ability is Gatecrash, a rift tether that can be sent out and teleported to, or consumed to trigger a fake teleport that plays a sound cue without teleporting Yoru. His ultimate ability is Dimensional Drift, which has Yoru enter a personal parallel dimension via equipping his mask, where he can't be seen or affected by enemies. Yoru may continue to use his other abilities freely in this state, but cannot use guns and if he gets too close to an enemy, they can hear his footsteps and receive a visual cue notifying that he is nearby.
