My old argument was a bit messy, so I’ve fixed some things and added some others. These are some reasons why I think Rae is an ENTP, not an ENFP. There are going to be spoilers for Volumes 1 and 2 of the Light Novels, be warned. To start, I’d say her Ne is very clear. She is very creative, and her actions also always show a lot of Ne. She always has new and creative ideas of how to face the situations she founds herself in. Her plans when facing various kinds of trouble are done in a very smart and fast way, hence showing a great usage of Ne-Ti. She has nothing such as Te, too. She doesn’t stick to the facts, (like Claire does, deciding to research in books and already formulated material in order to solve the problem), she innovates. That is very easy to spot. As for her Fe, I do see a lot of Fe in her, but don’t think it’s her dominant function. Most of the things she knows about the hierarchy in Bauer Kingdom comes from her knowledge of the game itself. Rae also says that she is uninterested in politics and all the aristocratic drama, and only deals with it because that’s the only way she can save Claire (through the revolution route). My biggest issue with the current consensus is Fi as her auxiliary function. Rae really lacks in Fi. She relies on her knowledge and rational thinking, so when things become too emotional (for example, when Manaria threatened to take Claire from her or when Claire decided she wanted to sacrifice herself not to betray the aristocracy, or in many other situations she uses humor to avoid getting emotional), she always crumbles and unless someone is there to reassure her (usually Manaria when it’s about Claire), she gives up. This is even shown in her past life, when she couldn’t come in terms with her queerness until Shiko helped her. Something I find quite interesting is that, despite Rae being seen as aloof and cheerful, she is mentioned as the logical one, whereas Claire is the emotional one. As for her enneagram, I’m pretty sure she’s a 7. There is already a good argument regarding this so I’ll leave it aside. I’ll just add that I believe she’s a so7 rather than a sx7. Naranjo has said that sevens defer their own desires in pursuit of an ideal, which is pretty similar to her commitment to Claire. She also doesn’t have the idealizations and somewhat naive behavior of a sx7. That’s pretty much all I have. If you’ve got any ideas or think that something doesn’t add up, please share it!
