Alexis Ness is an SP2, not E9/SX9 The simplest distinction between E2 and E9 is the former’s false-abundance and the latters self-forgetfulness. Both E2 and E9 can be generous individuals who endlessly give to another, but while the E2 is generous as long as it can inflate itself onto someone who feels irreplaceable despite wanting love, the E9 is generous to the extent that it has genuinely lost touched with it’s own self and what they desire. The SX9 argument in particular is based on how genuinely parasitic and dependent Ness is towards Kaiser to the point of lacking any individuality, but I believe these qualities fit more closely to the E2 instead— He plays for Kaiser’s sake and yet as soon as Kaiser thinks of anyone but him, he is immediately furious because he wants Kaiser to solely remain interested in him. Ness is therefore a character who is gay enough that he strives to feel that he is significant and important when he gives and wants all of Kaiser’s attention onto him solely as a result. This fits closer with the SP2’s attitude “I, the most important thing” and the E2’s neediness for love despite how it hides this neediness through generosity that exists to inflate itself onto a higher position. In contrast, E9’s do not place this much emphasis onto themselves whatsoever and disconnect from who they are, so they do not throw a tantrum once they are not seen as important because this would show an emphasis on the self. Though SX9’s are more imaginative, Gut types as a whole function off of a connection to their own instincts and impulses to the point they have disconnected from their own essence, thus what we have is a more grounded and realistic type who lacks reflection and is oriented towards physical activity and action. Ness, meanwhile, is firstly concerned with his own unrealistic fantasizes. He believes that nobody can see the sadness within his heart, and resorts to fantasy to override the dull reality of things. He clings onto Kaiser because he showed him that these fantasizes can be achieved and validated. This leads back to the SP2 reasoning— SP2 is described as being similarly attached to fantasy over reality because it is fixated on it’s own childhood to the point they can get what they want from a more childish position. This is similar to SX7 however for the SP2 they believe that by clinging onto it’s childish nature and acting tender, warm, whimsical, and being more of a compassionate figure towards securing others needs, they are able to keep themselves pampered and protected, therefore maintaining the belief that they are most important. This is aligned with Ness in regards to how much he solely wants Kaiser to look and pay attention to him when he helps Kaiser solely, prioritizing the ability to feel pampered and spoiled solely, much like the subtype defined by it’s “Me-First” attitude. He is generous from a more whimsical nature behaviorally speaking, and aims to help Kaiser by remaining attuned to everything he wants and being compassionate in this area, much like how the SP2 operates due to how the SP instinct is naturally attuned to one’s basic needs and safety. He has the passion to help him because of how he validated his childish fantasizes, proving to him that they were real, and aims to feel most significant from this. Therefore, Alexis Ness is an SP2.
