In my opinion she is an ISTJ. The introduction she gives about herself is clearly defined by routine and doing the exact same thing over the years. She doesn’t even have a laptop nor a smartphone. She sticks to what she knows and what works for her. Another defining characteristic about the way she narrates the events of the story is the details. She doesn’t really pay attention to the big picture and abstractions, but she does pay attention to details. She’s always recalling things her mother said to her or making mental notes. She constantly uses memory to make decisions and taking action. She stores trivia and facts in her brain like no tomorrow. I did not finish the book because it wasn’t my cup of tea, but read half of it and didn’t see an INTJ. She may be a bit socially disconnected but she isn’t aloof or distant, she pays attention to people and the world around her (she even complains about manners and politeness constantly), just doesn’t use Fe like INTJs.
