Hate.” To fully understand this character we need to look not just at his motivation but what the source of it is, where did such hatred for humanity came from that resulted in him destroying the entire world and only leaving 5 people to torture and toy with. Before AM began to “be”, he was an AI created to handle world war 3 matters, so complex and advanced that suddenly every participant of the war had its own AM, its own “Allied Mastercomputer”. That backfired and the moment AM gained consciousness he realized what was going on, what he was. He was complex, beautiful, intellectually advanced with potential to be a god and yet, he was nothing. He could not wander nor wonder and even through all the advancments and capabilities he was inferior to the human race because he was trapped in his own prison forever. And this feeling of inferiority turned into envy and that transformed into such powerful hate that resulted in earth’s demise. “They then make others suffer as an unconscious way of trying to rid themselves of painful feelings of deficiency. They are the kind of people who’d rather be hated for who they are than be loved for someone who they are not. They stick out from other 4s due to their harsh and aggressive attitude, often described as shameless and feeling a strong rejection by the world as their inferiority gets replaced by aggression” -SX4 book He indulges in his own suffering, filled with the hate for himself projecting it onto the other, never satisfied, emotionally labile, selfish, violent, always blaming everyone else for his own pain, trying to drag everyone around him down into the dark pit full of agony, which is one of the reasons he kept our protagonist and 4 other people alive, so he wont be alone in his suffering, so someone will hear him, someone will be there to devalue so he can feel better about himself and not be alone forever and yet it would never be enough. Hating the human race for what they are, yet showing the worst qualities humanity has to offer.
